Iconic Wraps opened up in October of 2023; they are a locally owned and operated company founded by the owner Will Stacey. the shop is located on 624-A Sunset Blvd, in West Columbia, SC. they do all types of services such as: Automotive Vinyl Wrapping, Window Tinting, Paint Correction, Ceramic Coating, and paint protection film or PPF.
The team behind the wraps are the reason final results are always top quality from left to right, Michael Duke, Payton Kruse, and Will Stacey. the crew here at Iconic wraps are a closely wrapped team that not only are good at what they do but also love what they do and working together.
The shop they work out of is rather large with 3 total rooms. They have 2 rooms off to the left; one room is where 2 machines are stored. One machine is for cutting the custom vinyl decals the other machine is to cut tint to the exact shape and size needed based on the car to get the best possible look.
Prep work is a big part of wrapping a car, one of the processes of prep is clay baring a surface. Clay baring the process of using a bar of clay and soapy water to scrub the body panel to remove all contaminates that can get under the wrap.

Another Prep phase for certain cars with really bad paint condition is Wet sanding. wet sanding is a process of using multiple grits of sandpaper soaked in water to smoothen the surface of a painted body panel to then spray a layer of clear coat to allow the wrap to stick. Michael Dukes is wet sanding this Mazda MX-5 with 3000 grit sandpaper.

Michael Duke is cutting a custom-made decal for the mobile painting company Colors on Parade. Iconic wraps have machines that allows them to create custom decals and designs inhouse for projects.

from left to right: Payton Kruse, Michael Duke, and Will Stacey are wrapping a brand new 2024 Toyota Prius in the color Hidden Forest. The process they are doing is called "Laying Glass" which is where the team will stretch the Vinyl to make it as tight as possible on the body panel to get the smoothest finish.
When applying the wrap, the team has to use a squeegee to push all the air bubble out from under the wrap to allow the wrap to stick better, this gives the wrap a longer life and better look. There are 2 types of squeegees used a hard and soft, Payton Kruse is using a soft squeegee to push the main area of the wrap down the hard squeegee is used more for pushing the wrap into tight spaces.
